HB 22-1050 or House Bill on International Medical Graduate Integrate Healthcare Workforce created the Integration of International Medical Graduates (IMG) Program which consists of the IMG Clinical Readiness Program (CRP) and the Assistance Program (AP).
Through a competitive application process, ONA granted $238k to Denver Health (DH). DH is writing the curriculum and plans to launch a 9 month CRP in January 2024 and will accept 4 internationally trained doctors into its first cohort. DH contracted with the Spring Institute to implement the AP, which provides hands-on assistance to internationally trained medical doctors to include career coaching, credential evaluation, USMLE preparation, career plan development, prep classes for language and board exams.
With braided funds from CDPHE, DH plans on running the Clinical Readiness Program with the goal of integrating 12 internationally trained medical doctors into Colorado’s medical workforce by the end of 2026.
